The tallest person in history of whom there is unchallengeable evidence is Robert Pershing Wadlow of Alton, Illinois. Wadlow was also referred to as the Giant of Illinois, or as the Alton Giant. Wadlow reached a staggering 8ft 11.1 inches in height at the time of his teach on July 15th 1940, when he was just twenty two years old. The reason why he was so tall was because of hypertrophy in his pituitary gland which led to an abnormal level of human growth hormone. When Wadlow passed away, he still had not stopped growing!

There exists a life-size statue of Wadlow opposite the Alton Museum of History and Art, erected in 1986 in honour of Wadlow. There exists other statues of Wadlow at many of the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museums. I think Wadlow would definitely have appreciated some Jacamo discount codes, which would make his clothing a great deal cheaper.
