The tallest person in history of whom there is unchallengeable evidence is Robert Pershing Wadlow of Alton, Illinois. Wadlow was also referred to as the Giant of Illinois, or as the Alton Giant. Wadlow reached a staggering 8ft 11.1 inches in height at the time of his teach on July 15th 1940, when he was just twenty two years old.
